My Chiswick home

Having recently taken on a whole rennovation (with kids and yes we are mad!) has been challenging to say the least. Set on the ever so trendy Devonshire road, just off Chiswick high road its seems like abit of a dream right now. The search for a run down property in Chiswick seemed impossible and at last we finally landed a 3 bed Victorian terraced house which was desparately crying out for some love and attention. The project required a lot of structural repairs in order to gain planning permission for the dorma and kitchen extension.

The structural work took place over a few months and the dusty clothes, smell of bonding, sleepless nights and regular takeaways quickly became a daily routine. Whilst the hubby worked hard, my regular reads of Living etc and pinterest tempted me to unleash all my creativity and love for Interiors in one room being the most important…the bathroom. A learning experience to say the least, but I I wanted to create a bathroom that felt inviting, warm and luxurious as well as a room that allows plenty of ‘me’ time which lets face it can be really hard to obtain with our hectic lives and the endless juggling of work, kids, homework, housework and now a whole rennovation! However seeing my eldest daughter overjoyed and stripping off her clothes as she runs into the walk-in shower made this bathroom all the worthwhile. Even the arguments over the positioning of the toilet and endless trips to tile shops tasted sweet right now. The girls, having been so patient and bearing with the ups and down couldn’t have felt more proud boasting to their friends that ‘daddy built our new house’. To achieve this look I opted for classic shades of grey, marble floor and a stone bathroom set complete with sash windows and underfloor heating.

The Bathroom before…yes really!

Sani Resort

My holiday family vacation at Sani Resort, I have to say, has been one of the best holiday experiences to date. Having 2 children it can be quite limiting when you have to consider everything from weather, distance, facilities and flights etc. Sani resort really does tick all the boxes whilst you feel you are living the high life in this luxurious resort. Child friendly restaurants, kids clubs, excellent service, fresh greek salad chopped up in front of you whilst you take in the mediterranean views…what more could a family ask for? This hidden gem has to be the one of the best resorts for families by far AND only 3 hours away!

Sani resort is part of a 1,000-acre estate, surrounded by beautiful sea views and meditteranean delights. Sani has its own marina with an abundance of luxury yachts and a great selection of restaurants not to mention the luxurious boutiques and jewellers as you walk around this divine resort. Sani is set in Halkidiki and Thessaloniki airport is only a 50-minute drive away. There are 3 resorts Sani Beach, Porto Sani, Sani Asterias suites and they are now expanding to its already extensive choice of suites with a brand new hotel Sani Dunes set to open in June 2017! www.saniresort.gr

I stayed at the elegant Porto Sani with Sani Marina on my doorstep. My immediate reaction when I first entered the hotel is the friendliness and warmth you feel whilst the staff make you feel totally at ease talking you through the agenda for your stay whilst you sip on chilled drinks by the pool side. You couldn’t really ask for better service. There are too many highlights for me but one being my favourite is the spa in Porto Sani. I am talking hot marble chairs on which to relax and a variety of treatments you can try on yourself even before your actual treatment has begun! The staff made up some amazing mud lotion whilst i stepped into the hot tub and was washed away by the automatic jets. If you like to stay fit there are a variety of classes each day. I mean what could beat practising yoga on a hilltop mountain overlooking the mediterranean sea? I will definitely be visiting again and cannot recommend this resort enough!

Living the dream at Sani resort!

Cinderella party

Having been inspired by the Cinderella film and her refreshed look on the original character I decided to celebrate my daughter’s 5th birthday in true Ella style. Maggie & Rose  a  members club for families in Chiswick, helped bring the Cinderella theme to life with the most beautiful party.

The party involved custom made outfits, tutus from angels face curls, pumpkins, butterflies, pretty pink carriage boxes and the most scrumptious birthday cake fit for any Princess by Crumbs Couture.

To create this look I simply added lovely touches by hanging little pink carriages down from the ceiling. As a centre piece (which the kids loved!) we had a selfie photo booth made out of gorgeous sparkly drapes pinned with gold butterflies and a pumpkin. You can buy some amazing selfie props which I ordered from Etsy containing a wand, lips, a crown and a Cinderella shoe! Kids can take away these polaroids in their goody bags and what a lovely memory to cherish! Goody bags or shall i say princess carriages contained love hearts for that extra special touch for kids to take home and keep. I always prefer to give children keepsakes at parties and books make a great treat too!

Extravagant me? no just doing what I love!
