Fairy-Tale Tent

The Holiday with Jude Law and Cameron Diaz, Dec 2006

Ah that’s the childhood dream hey…an area to read and escape into your very own fairy tale. I fell in love with the whole idea after watching the film ‘Holiday’. Perhaps the most memorable thing about Jude Law’s house was his daughter’s bedroom. Who could forget the fairy-tale tent they got to sleep in? Makes me want to be a child all over again.

Create your very own fairy tale reading nook by simply taking an unused corner and furnishing it with a combination of warm, cosy textures. To get this look drape some pretty white muslin with a bunch of colourful pom poms to hold at the top. You can also drape some pretty white pom pom garlands on the side or fairy lights to complete the look. Throw in some cosy cushions and there you have it…your very own fairytale come true!–light-grey/

Tutu Love

Tutu skirts are perfect for any occasion, they can by dressed up with a pair of sparkly party shoes, or worn casually with a t shirt. My particular favourite brand for Tutus can be found at starting from £35. Totally in love with the rose colour blush tutu! They really do add an instant wow factor and are packaged in beautiful vintage inspired hat boxes. Cant wait to play dress up with my girls!

To get the look, simply knot the strap of your current cross-body or use a ribbon to tie a section of the chain together inside the bag. The reality with this style it’s one I always sport when I’m shopping with clients, as I want to be able to pick up lots of clothes and carry them, without having to worry about my handbag! Here are a few of my favourites…

Moulding Framed Wallpaper

The idea of a feature wall might be enticing but isn’t always practical. Instead we’d suggest a feature wallpaper. A striking alternative to a whole re-papered wall, it sets off the rest of the furniture and looks bold and fresh against the classic grey and white shades. Quirky pom pom cushions add an extra element of warmth and comfort to the room.

Yellow Accent Chair

Update any room with a bright, bold chair. This particular mustard yellow desk chair brightens up a classical study, but would also work within an other-wise stark kitchen around a dining table.  Its modern and sleek dimensions also make it a versatile piece ideal for a small space.

Kids Bedroom

The obvious place for creative decor, a children’s bedroom can be easily updated. We love how this ladder has been cleverly redirected into a bold bookshelf for favourite stories. We also, love that it forms the basis (and trunk) of the inspired tree feature.

Framed Wall

Use various shapes and sizes of empty photograph frames to flatter wall detailing such as beautiful panelling or original brickwork. Ideal for hallways. This combined selection of yellow and antique gold shaded frames set against a dove grey painted wall is elegant and interesting.
